The Nile Soil Store brings authentic Upper Egyptian products to households in Cairo: the food families in the Saidi countryside rely on, tasting the way it should, delivered to your door.
What we sell
The store specialises in the food of Upper Egyptian households: Mallawi cheese in its several ages, fresh qarish, mish, baladi samna and butter from buffalo and cow milk, honey by variety (clover, citrus, sidr, marjoram and comb), black honey and tahini, Saidi kishk, freekeh and basisa, shamsi and bettaw bread, baladi fava beans and whole spices.

Where it comes from
The Mallawi cheese comes from Mallawi in Minya governorate — the town the cheese is named after. The rest is Upper Egyptian too: kishk, freekeh, shamsi and bettaw bread and basisa are all Saidi foods that are hard to find in Cairo tasting the way they should. Every product page explains exactly what the item is, how it tastes, what it is eaten with, and how to keep it.
How delivery works
You order on the site without an account, choose your delivery area, day and slot, and we call to confirm the order and the time before delivering. We cover Greater Cairo (the Cairo and Giza governorates); the fee depends on your area and is shown before you confirm. Every order gets a tracking link showing which stage it has reached.
